My name is Sophie Glass, also known as Sophie Paintz, and I am a self-taught artist based in Bloomington, Minnesota. I am Ethiopian, Lakota and I’m an enrolled member of the Red Lake Band of Ojibwe. I am currently a team member of Buckanaga Social Club, which is a group of Indigenous artists located across the state of Minnesota. According to the Americans for the Arts' Public Opinion Poll in 2021, Americans believe more strongly than ever that the arts promote personal well-being, give us a sense of community, and are essential to a well-rounded education.
